31 OCT 1840: Died, at the residence of Dr. Fletcher in Marion, on Tuesday the 13th inst., Miss Harriet M. Rash, aged about 20. She was a member of the Marion Female Seminary....

07 NOV 1840: Died, at her residence in the neighborhood of Valley Creek Academy, after a short illness, in the 73rd year of her age, Mrs. Ann Bethany, consort of Thomas Bethany, Esq. The deceased, from her infancy to the time of her emigration to this state, lived in S.C., mostly in Orangeburg district, and for the last 30 years has been an acceptable member of the Methodist Episcopal Church...

14 NOV 1840: Died. In Hayneville, on Wednesday night the 4th inst. of fever, William B. Saffold, Esq., son of the Hon. Reuben Saffold, of Dallas County, aged 28 years.

16 JAN 1841: Died. In this town, on Wesdnesday last (13th), Mr. Alexander C. Johnson, a native of the State of Delaware, aged about 32 years...; Died a few days since, in Mobile, where he was upon a visit in the transaction of business, Mr. Peter Dubose, and old and respected citizen citizen of this county.

12 APR 1841: Died. In Burksville, KY., on the 23d ult., Mrs. Mary King, daughter or Mr. Henry Adams, formerly a resident of the neighborhood of Cahawba...

24 APR 1841: Died. On Monday morning last (19th), Mrs. Margaret Givhan, consort of Mr. William Givhan, aged about 20 years.

15 MAY 1841: Departed this life on the 10th ult., Anthony Minter, the fourth and only son of Robert R. Minter, Esq. of this county; Departed this life on Monday evening last (10th), at the residence of Robert R. Minter, Esq., Mrs. Judity Elizabeth Jones wife of Mr. ____?__ W. Jones, of Selma, aged 25 years.
