Morrow Cemetery
Morgan County, Alabama
Data collected June 1, 2003 by Rick Wallace & Jacob Wallace, contributed APR 2005 by Rick Wallace.
The Morrow Cemetery is located on Six Mile Creek Road in Morgan County.
From very near the intersection of Alabama Highways 67 & 36, take Six
Mile
Road 1.4 miles to a 90 degree turn. At the 90 degree turn, take Six
Mile
Creek Road. One mile down Six Mile Creek Road will be a large hay
field
and the cemetery will be on the left, approximately 100 yards off the
road and in the hay field. The cemetery is not well kept and vandals
have
broken several of the tombstones. There are approximately 30 more
graves
which are marked with field stones with no markings.

Unnamed Cemetery
Contributed by Dorcas Saunders & Dawn Prince.
dorcas@mindspring.com (dorcas s. saunders)
My housekeeper, Dawn Prince, told me about an old cemetery she discovered on the property where she lives near Cotaco in Morgan County. I asked her to go back and get the information off the graves for me. This is what she found:
There are eleven graves in pretty bad shape. Only two of them have any information on the headstone. One has the name Zelpha Lassitter and some other writing that can't be distinguished. Another is a small grave much like one for a baby, with the name J.H. Frances, death date October 24, 1883. If anyone is looking for either of these names, I'm sure that Ms. Prince would be glad to show them where they are. She is of the opinion that they won't last much longer. The Lassiter marker is cracked in three places and will probably not weather many more years. My telephone number is (205) 498-2293, if anyone wishes to call me for more information. Dorcas S. Saunders, 264 Morrow Mtn Rd, Somerville, AL 35670.
