- St. Clair County, Orphans Court, May 20 1840, to the honorable James Rogan, Judge, that by bond made and served the 15th day of July, 1835, one A.B. Norththrop L. Bradford and James M. Bradford, your petitioner to certain land lying in Wetumpka, to wit: L.J. Bradford has departed this life, Letters Adm’r being granted to James M. Bradford.

-By virtue of a write of vendition: issued from Circuit Court of Benton, I will exposed to public sale, town of Jackson, 1st Monday in July, right, title & claim, interest or demand that William Chamness has in, Property in the Coosa Land District, to satisfy said writ, in favor of G. Jordan June 3, 1840 Wm. C. Price. Sheriff.
-Also By virtue of a write of vendition: issued from Circuit Court of Benton, I will sell to the highest bidder for cash, Jackson, 1st Monday in July, right, title & claim, interest or demand that
J. S. Finley has in, Property in the Coosa Land District, to satisfy said writ, in favor of Henry Belton June 3, 1840 Wm. C. Price. Sheriff.
-Also, I will expose at public sale, all right, title, interest, claim and demand which Josiah Houston, Guardian of J.W. Boyt, in the Coosa land District to satisfy, write in favor of William H. Estill- 1st June 1840.
-Also, by virtue of two writs, John Prather, Sam Prather, and Solomon Bynum or either of them has in Coosa Land Dsitrict to satisfy said Writs, one in favor of Allen Elston and the other to I. Kirksey, Adm’r- 1st June 1840.
-By virtue of a like Writ, public sale, Thomas Logan, Coosa Land dist. in favor of Thomas and William Dothard, 1st June 1840.
-also by virtue of 4 like writs, I will sell which, Thomas Elliott, tracts of land, in favour of Turney Bentley- June 1st, 1840
- also By virtue of a like writ, to highest bidder, James Shadden, in favor of Wm. Montgomery- 1st June 1840.
-also land of Wyley Love, Coosa Land District, to satisfy said Writ in favor of James A. McCampbell. June 3rd, 1840
-Also by vuirtue of a like writ; Land, Coosa Dist. of John W. Guest, to satisy said writ in favor of H.L. & E.L. Givens. 1st June, 1840.
-Also, same time, By virtue of 3 writs, one in favor of J.W. Black against Nathan Reeves, one in favor of David Henly, against said Reeves, the other in favor of James C. -A Liar Reported, Benton County, By the name of ALVIN CANNON, who voluntarily, without grounds has attempted, falsely, slanderously and lyingly to report some of the citizens of Benton County, some falsehoods respecting my two sisters, For which kindness of said Cannon towards my sisters, I take the liberty to say and affirm, that Alvin Cannon is a noted Liar and I can prove him to be as such. Maj. Josiah Houston. July 21st 1840-
