	ran to door, but was ordered back or die, too! Believed crime was committed by
	white people; m Dr Homer S STALLINGS & Annie CHAFFIN in Troy last
	Wednesday, Dr is formerly of Andalusia; d George GRIMES, Negro tenant
	on farm of Murphy LITTLES, struck by lightning on Wednesday last, he was
	carrying his child and some wood. Baby was unhurt; d John FINDLEY killed
	by lightning, brother Henry was also injured on Wednesday near Brooklyn.
	They were waiting out the storm in doorway of barn holding the frightened mules
	when bolt struck killing John and rendering Henry unconcious, and killed on mule;
	FYI arrested for assassination of Doc TAYLOR were Walker BRYANT, Henry &
	Marvin HUDSON & John HAYES.  Taylor’s wife is afraid for her life, but did
	tell Sheriff who did the shooting; d Mr H Clay MILLS, shot his wife on Tuesday
	and then killed himself in Mobile, 3 children in the house were unharmed.

	to attention of Gov’t agriculture office, because he has exercised common 
	sense. Right after war, he bought 40 acres from his former owner, then bought
	more land until he had 163 acres. He grew cotton & corn, he plowed under 
	cotton stalks, hauled leaves and began organic gardening. By 1898 his land
	became so rich, that 2 acres produced 7 bales of cotton; the Gov’t is studying

	funeral on Friday; d James FOWLER, 50 yrs, shot by son in law Edward 
	HOLLAND, 28 yrs, Holland is small in stature, Fowler was drunk and came to
	house after family retired for night, was not admitted, later Fowler got into a 
	ruckus with neighbors and Holland was called upton to separate them. Fowler
	vowed vengeance, went home to get shotgun, Fowler leaves wife and children,
	burial on Sunday, Holland has wife & 2yr & 4 yr old. d James  HAMBY, his
